Farida Hamza, Counseling Intern

Farida Hamza is a graduate intern, expecting to receive her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Arkansas in 2023. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington. Farida is an experienced certified yoga instructor and has been teaching yoga for the last 15 years. She teaches at various studios in Little Rock.

Farida’s therapeutic approach mirrors her personal philosophy; which is, that everything is connected, and one should consider each aspect of their life as they are planning for change and healing.

Farida has traveled extensively, has lived in several other countries and her multicultural background is an asset when dealing with clients from varied backgrounds. Her clinical approach mirrors her personal philosophy: inclusive, person centered, and holistic. She uses cognitive and mindfulness techniques to help clients break dysfunctional patterns and behaviors in a safe environment. She also believes in working with the client in developing goals for therapy and in helping them become autonomous. Farida lives in Little Rock with her husband, daughter, and four cats. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and close friends, cooking, listening to music from every genre, and going on long walks.
