Shalae’s approach

Shalae seeks to first empower her clients to harness their inherent strengths so they can grow to empower themselves. She views each client as the expert on their own life and seeks to work alongside them to design, implement and constantly evaluate the pathway to follow for treatment.

Shalae is trained in the following therapy models: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Shalae is adept at using evidence-based therapy models in a manner that is customized for each client. She wants the client to have input on the direction of therapy. Shalae is extremely familiar with the large system that serves children who have experienced abuse, and is calm and confident as she helps families navigate that system. She is also equipped to assist caregivers with addressing problematic sexual behavior that their children may be exhibiting. Shalae has completed the necessary training to offer telehealth services.

She lives to seize the joy that is offered by “the little things,” such as blowing bubbles with her daughter or enjoying a rare day of perfect autumn weather in Arkansas.
